What is FA 3 Star Accreditation?

The FA Accredited Club programme recognises clubs that meet and maintain high standards in every aspect of grassroots football. The 3 Star award is presented to clubs that go above and beyond the core accreditation requirements, demonstrating excellence in player development, club management, safeguarding, coaching and community engagement.

To achieve and retain 3 Star status, clubs must continually demonstrate that they:

• Provide football opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
• Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and player welfare.
• Ensure all coaches hold the appropriate FA qualifications, DBS checks and first aid certification.
• Promote Respect and positive behaviour across all teams.
• Operate effective governance, policies and club administration.
• Offer clear player development pathways.
• Support the recruitment, training and development of volunteers.
• Create an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome regardless of background or ability.
• Work closely with County FA and league partners to continually improve.
