Nunnery Wood Colts Celebrate 20th Annual Summer Tournament

Nunnery Wood Colts Football Club proudly hosted its 20th Annual Summer Tournament, welcoming hundreds of young footballers for a fantastic weekend of football, teamwork and community spirit.

Held over two days, the tournament brought together an impressive 117 teams, ranging from Under-7s to Under-14s, who competed in 386 matches across the weekend. The event showcased the enthusiasm, talent and sportsmanship of young players from across the region, with Worcestershire teams enjoying considerable success throughout the competition.

The tournament continues to be one of the highlights of the local football calendar, providing young players with the opportunity to develop their skills, enjoy competitive matches and create lasting memories with teammates, coaches and families.

Nunnery Wood Colts Chairman, Darren Mace, said:

“Once again we have exceeded our expectations in terms of the quantity and quality of football being played. We would like to thank all the committee members, managers and parents from the club for their help before and during the tournament, with planning starting in January.

Thanks to Blessed Edward Oldcorne College and the University of Worcester for the continued support and use of their facilities, which are now the home ground for our Nunnery Wood Colts teams.”

The success of the tournament would not have been possible without the dedication of volunteers, coaches, parents and supporters who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver a memorable event for everyone involved.

As the club celebrates this milestone 20th tournament, Nunnery Wood Colts remains committed to providing opportunities for young people to enjoy football, develop confidence and build friendships in a positive and supportive environment.
